This collaborative learning experience has been developed by exceptional educators from Metro State College of Denver in conjunction with education technology partners to bring students a unique opportunity to learn about the US political process, the historical 2008 election, and the most highly debated issues of the day. The course is designed to provide resources for a variety of learners, including an individual seeking personal growth and knowledge, a student interested in enrolling for credit through Metro State College of Denver, and for teachers and professors who wish to incorporate the content into their own curriculum.
The course will include discussion boards, live and recorded video interviews, articles and documents regarding key issues, mock party platform exercise, and discussion/essay topics. In addition, learners will be asked to gather and contribute content to the course. Acting as reporters exploring the main political discourse at the DNC, learners will be encouraged to interview DNC Delegates or other prominent politicians and share any video or audio of the interview with other course participants.
